TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 95-018a

DATE: DECEMBER 26, 1995

TO: ALL DISTRIBUTORS

GAME: PINBALL MAGIC(tm)

SUBJECT: REMOVAL OF 2.2K OHM RESISTORS FROM SWITCHES

AFFECTED S/NS: PB0001030 TO PB0001380 AND PB10016 TO PB100040

THIS CHANGE WAS IMPLEMENTED TO ENSURE THE CE COMPLIANCE OF OUR PINBALL GAMES FOR EUROPE.

REMOVE THE 2.2K OHM RESISTORS FROM MECHANICAL SWITCHES ON THE COIN DOOR AREA WITH THE EXCEPTIONS OF THE SLAM TILT AND TILT BOB POSITIONS. ALL REMAINING RESISTORS THAT ARE CONNECTED TO SWITCHES ARE IGNORED BY SOFTWARE, STARTING WITH VERSION 1.02 CPU EPROMS.

DUE TO THE CE REQUIREMENT THE SWITCH WIRING CAN NO LONGER BE CHECKED FOR CONTINUITY. HOWEVER, THE SWITCHES ARE CHECKED TO SEE THAT THEY ARE OPERATIONAL. SEE SERVICE BULLETIN 95-020 FOR FURTHER CLARIFICATION TO IDENTIFY

SPECIFIC SWITCH ERRORS.

PLEASE CONTACT FIELD SERVICE WITH ANY QUESTIONS. THANK YOU.
